  • National Massage Therapy Awareness Week

AMTA will be celebrating National Massage Therapy Awareness Week (NMTAW) October 25–31, 2020. For those of you that are thinking about doing something for NMTAW, we have some information and suggestions that we’d like to share with everyone.

For 2020, we will not be conducting any face-to-face NMTAW events. Our focus this year is on social media communications and awareness. Chapters are welcome to share posts from the AMTA Facebook page or information placed in Hands On.

Our first social media post is already on Facebook. There is a link provided sharing easy ways that members can celebrate NMTAW (even during COVID-19).

We have an interactive Facebook post planned for the week of October 5th as well as additional posts planned for the week of NMTAW. You can encourage interested parties to share NMTAW posts and perhaps ask members to share what they’re doing to celebrate NMTAW.

In addition, here are some resources that may be helpful for you to share:

Putting together a plan for NMTAW may be a great way for your chapter board and members to connect. Consider interactive ways to communicate with the members and have them share their stories. NMTAW could also be a good way for therapists that have gone back to work to market their practice and inform their clients about safe practices and protocols for massage.

Let us know if you have any other ideas you’d like to share about what your chapter is planning for NMTAW. You can post them here in the Hub or email them to us at chapterrelations@amtamassage.org.
